After spending the day in Tagaytay, I went straight to our HS reunion in Metrowalk, Ortigas. It was funny really coz I wasn't dressed up properly for the reunion. Luckily, the girls chose Good Earth for dinner - a fancy Chinese tea house without a dress code. So there I was, my cheeks still reddish and stinging from the cool air of Tagaytay, laughing and enjoying the night away with 12 of the most intelligent and lovely ladies of St Dominica batch '96. (well, the others didn't make it).

I only learned in college (from schoolmates who also graduated from UST High School) that our section was known as a snobbish group. Mega defend naman ako, then I realized, that we were indeed a snobbish group. Maybe because the pressure of achieving and excelling in every aspect of HS life is ingrained in each one of us. We believed that HS sets the pace for college and eventually the rat race, compared to our contemporaries who were partying day in and day out. And true enough, each one now has their own distinct tracks in life, all those hard work paid off. But HS will never be the same without those crazy antics. We spent the night exchanging funny experiences and reminisced about HS.

Trivia: UST has two high schools, one is UST Education High School (where students from the College of Education do their practicum) and UST High School (AKA as Pay High, so known because it is not subsidized as compared to the other HS, and because it charges higher like most private schools). Both schools produce good students, but most of those coming from pay high are branded as party people. But Pay High has always been the main representative of UST in all inter-school competitions and extra-curricular activities - and produced the best professionals in every known industry here and abroad. And our USTHS proms are held in hotels and not in the gym, hahaha. Peace, people!!!

After dinner at Good Earth, the ladies voted out whether to have coffee (especially those who brought their cars) or have cocktails. Since New Yorker Carol was in the house, everybody will have to have at least 5% alcohol in their drinks. So we scouted for a good bar and ended up at Decades. All drinks were on Carol's American Express Card! After a few gin tonics, margaritas, zombies, vodka and alco pop, eveybody were ready to storm the dancefloor.

At about half past 1am, California Mommy Jenny called and catched up with everyone. Next month, another California Mommy Jecky is coming to town. Welcome home Jerrald and Mark! After that, everybody were beat (some came from doctor duties and work and Tagaytay?) so we all headed home.
Incidentally, Myla pointed out that we were in Decades, and it really WAS our 10th year anniversary (so now you know how old we all are, hahaha).

Ladies, here's to the next 10 years of friendship, CHEERS!
